AD: Matt Ransone
The Brief:
Choose your own company, brand, product, etc., and create an integrated campaign that spans the following 4 mediums: 3 print or outdoor ads, 1 TV spot or 3 radio spots, 1 experiential idea, and 1 social idea.
The :Process
The first step was to choose a unique brand that would help diversify and bolster our portfolios. I had never done a car-related product before, and neither had Matt, so when I suggested we try Meguiar’s car washing products we were both up to the challenge. The problem came when we had to brainstorm ideas for how to make soap for automobiles into an experiential idea. That’s where Matt came in.
Get WAX’d… Get it ? Like, get Punk’d ?
Matt had the idea that friends could nominate their buddy’s filthy cars to get #WAXd, and the Meg Mobile would ensure that their sweet rides remained classics. The American car culture places emphasis on pristine, old, classic cars, but why not transform any car into a classic car with Meguiar’s detailing products? Thus, make it a classic and keep it a classic with Meguiar’s.
