The Brief:First narrow down 10 magazine layouts you like, then come up with 5 brands to utilize in a print campaign that will draw inspiration from the spreads. Create 3 print executions.
The :ProcessWhen asked to find inspiration from a magazine, the first place I headed was my local Barnes and Noble. There I took dozens of photos of magazine spreads I liked, and compiled them alongside my partner’s photos. We kept funneling the ideas down until we came to a conclusion via classmate feedback. The possibilities were endless when we didn’t specific constraints holding us back.

A lot of pink and purple hues were drawing my attention at the time, so once we settled on our inspiration spread I felt drawn to makeup brands. Mary and I were along the same lines of thinking, so we had to find a brand that had presence, but wasn’t necessarily a household name. That’s when we found drag show inspired Kimchichic beauty, and I knew I could have a ton of fun with the campy body copy.
